Our Senior Infants have had a wonderfully busy Term 2, filled with lots of learning, creativity, and fun! The children have been working very hard on their reading, writing and maths, showing great enthusiasm and making fantastic progress.

We especially enjoyed all of our artwork this term. The children had great fun making snails using clay and painting them in bright, cheerful colours. We also created lovely hearts for Valentine’s Day, beautiful flowers for Mother’s Day and designed festive hats to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

In Science, we carried out lots of exciting experiments including figuring out which materials absorb water and which do not. The children loved predicting, testing and discovering the results through hands-on activities.

In English, we learned about procedural writing and “bossy verbs.” The children really enjoyed giving clear instructions on how to make hot chocolate—step by step—and had great fun using their new vocabulary. We enjoyed writing about our teddy bears’ adventures and we performed the song Me and My Teddy Bear at assembly for the rest of the school.

We also spent time learning about our feelings and emotions. The children really enjoyed making different feeling faces using playdough and talking about how we feel in different situations.

Well done to all our Senior Infants for a fantastic term. We are looking forward to more learning and fun in Term 3.
