We have had a very busy few months in 2nd Class, with lots of learning opportunities for everyone and great fun along the way.

First Confession:

The highlight of this term was undoubtedly the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which took place in early February.

Thank you to Ms. Cahill who helped us incorporate our artwork into a fantastic display for the occasion.

STEM & Music:

In addition to receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the children have been engaging in lots of STEM activities, ranging from puzzles to construction work and also designing and making activities.

We have also started to learn the tin whistle this term and are currently trying to perfect the song Baby Shark.

Baking:

The boys and girls also had the opportunity to bake once again this term with our class SNA, Noeleen.

As part of their revision work on procedural writing, the class learned the steps involved in how to make a pastry, which was then used to make homemade sausage rolls.

We can’t wait to get back in the kitchen again after Easter!

Artwork:

As usual, we had lots of fun in art recently, ranging from fantastic “Bee Mine” art to celebrate Valentine’s Day and making clay flower pots, as part of our learning about spring.

Hurling:

We also got to participate in a development hurling blitz in Borrisokane GAA Club organised by Tipperary GDA, with an emphasis on fun & participation. We got to play three matches on the Astro with boys & girls from Kilruane National School. This will undoubtedly be the first of many occasions the boys and girls will represent Scoil Eoin Naofa in hurling and camogie in the years to come.
