Principal’s Welcome
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Scoil Eoin Naofa, a vibrant and inclusive DEIS Band 1 primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Killaloe. Situated on Golden Grove Road in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, our school is a place where children are valued, encouraged, and supported to reach their full potential.
With an enrolment of 154 pupils, we are proud to offer a warm and caring learning environment across our eight mainstream classes, from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. We are also fortunate to 2 ASD classes-e Tús Maith, our Early Intervention ASD Pre-school, and a School Age ASD Class#. Both which plays a vital role in supporting all the children in our care. Our dedicated staff includes eight mainstream class teachers, five special education teachers, eight special needs assistants, and an administrative principal—all working together to support the diverse needs of our pupils.
As a DEIS school, we benefit from reduced pupil–teacher ratios and the support of the Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) Scheme and the School Completion Programme (SCP). Our HSCL coordinator plays an important role in strengthening the link between home and school, while the SCP team helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to make the most of their education.
At Scoil Eoin Naofa, we place strong emphasis on creating a school culture based on respect, tolerance, inclusion, and positive relationships. Our weekly assemblies celebrate the many talents and achievements of our pupils and help foster a strong sense of community and belonging. Staff and pupils greatly enjoy these Friday assemblies. Parents are always welcome to join us at 1.00 p.m. every Friday.
Learning at Scoil Eoin Naofa extends well beyond the classroom. Our pupils enjoy a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including quizzes, art competitions, fundraising events, and musical performances. Sport also plays a central role in school life, with opportunities to participate in hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, ladies’ football, soccer, tennis, rugby, and more. Educational tours and trips further enrich the school experience.
We invite you to follow our school activities and celebrations on Facebook (Scoil Eoin Naofa) or on Twitter (@scoileoinros), where our vibrant school spirit is showcased throughout the year.
Whether you are a current parent, a prospective family, or a member of our wider community, you are very welcome. If you would like to learn more about enrolling your child, please contact us by phone at 0505 23903 or email scoileoinnaofa@gmail.com.
